Ingredients

300 g Chicken breast
1 medium Red bell pepper
1 medium Green bell pepper
3 tbsp Soy sauce
2 tbsp Honey
2 clove Garlic
1 tbsp Vegetable oil
1 tsp Cornstarch
2 tbsp Water
1 pinch Salt
1 pinch Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  1. 1.Cut the chicken breast into bite-size pieces, trimming any excess fat.
  2. 2.Deseed the red and green bell peppers, then slice them into thin strips.
  3. 3.Peel the garlic cloves and finely mince them.
  4. 4.In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and honey together until the honey is fully incorporated.
  5. 5.In a separate small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the water, stirring until dissolved.
  6. 6.Season the chicken pieces lightly with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

Instructions

  1. 1.Heat a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.
  2. 2.Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. 3.Add the seasoned chicken pieces to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  4. 4.Push the chicken to one side of the pan and add the sliced red and green bell peppers to the other side.
  5. 5.Sauté the bell peppers for 4-5 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp and vibrant in colour.
  6. 6.Pour the soy sauce and honey mixture over the chicken and bell peppers, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  7. 7.Add the dissolved cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened to a glossy consistency.
  8. 8.Taste and adjust seasoning with a pinch of salt or black pepper, if necessary.
  9. 9.Serve the Honey Soy Chicken with Bell Peppers immediately, garnished with optional fresh herbs like chopped parsley or coriander if desired.
