Ingredients
300 g Chicken breast
1 medium Red bell pepper
1 medium Green bell pepper
3 tbsp Soy sauce
2 tbsp Honey
2 clove Garlic
1 tbsp Vegetable oil
1 tsp Cornstarch
2 tbsp Water
1 pinch Salt
1 pinch Black pepper
Preparation Steps
- 1.Cut the chicken breast into bite-size pieces, trimming any excess fat.
- 2.Deseed the red and green bell peppers, then slice them into thin strips.
- 3.Peel the garlic cloves and finely mince them.
- 4.In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and honey together until the honey is fully incorporated.
- 5.In a separate small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the water, stirring until dissolved.
- 6.Season the chicken pieces lightly with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Instructions
- 1.Heat a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.
- 2.Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 3.Add the seasoned chicken pieces to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
- 4.Push the chicken to one side of the pan and add the sliced red and green bell peppers to the other side.
- 5.Sauté the bell peppers for 4-5 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp and vibrant in colour.
- 6.Pour the soy sauce and honey mixture over the chicken and bell peppers, stirring to coat everything evenly.
- 7.Add the dissolved cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened to a glossy consistency.
- 8.Taste and adjust seasoning with a pinch of salt or black pepper, if necessary.
- 9.Serve the Honey Soy Chicken with Bell Peppers immediately, garnished with optional fresh herbs like chopped parsley or coriander if desired.
